Cinnamon Roll Waffles with Cream Cheese Drizzle

Ingredients
  

Waffles:
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Drizzle:
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preheat waffle iron and lightly grease it.
    In a bowl, whisk eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
      In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugars, and cinnamon.
        Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
          Pour batter into waffle iron and cook until golden and crisp.
            In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
              Serve waffles warm with cream cheese drizzle on top.

                Notes

                Do not overmix the batter to keep waffles light. Make sure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in a toaster for best texture.
